This interactive projection, Out of Sight, Out of Mind, explores the ease with which we create waste and the unconscious nature of our actions. Using a trash can as a canvas and an Arduino-powered distance sensor, the piece invites participants to witness the immediate consequences of their gestures. Each hand movement triggers the projection of trash, accumulating with every interaction, symbolizing how effortlessly waste is generated in our daily lives.
Through this work, I aim to challenge viewers to reflect on their habits and confront the often-invisible impact of convenience-driven consumption. By making the intangible visible, the piece transforms a simple action into a thought-provoking moment, asking: How much are we truly throwing away, and at what cost?
